Shocking video casts fresh doubts over Manchester United’s Antony injury claim – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United winger Antony has missed several games for the club since being sidelined with injury.

The winger came off in the second half against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League and has since missed crucial games against West Ham, Real Sociedad and the loss to Aston Villa.

Along with Jadon Sancho, the Brazilian has not been available for the national team.

Antony, like Sancho, is said to be a doubt for the Carabao Cup match against Aston Villa tomorrow.

Erik ten Hag was questioned about the player’s absence but refused to confirm whether he would play a role in United’s remaining two games before the World Cup in Qatar begins.

Antony is in the United contingent designated by Brazil head coach Tite to take part in the tournament.

On when Antony could return to action, Ten Hag said before the Villa match: “Jadon Sancho: we have to wait, Antony: we have to wait today, final training.”

A video has emerged that has raised great doubts among fans as to the seriousness of Antony’s injury.

In the video that the 22-year-old posted on Instagram, he is seen sliding down a slide in the company of two children, before getting up and merrily jogging for another round.

This is generally not something players would do when they are injured and in the midst of their rehab.

Doubts about Antony’s injury are fueled by a report that Tite had asked his Brazilian players to fake injuries with their clubs to avoid playing more games.

According to the report, “Gabigol asked what kind of injury he should fake, Tite informed him that he will not be selected and not to worry.”

Hopefully this is not the case and Antony gets to play for the Red Devils before joining the national team.
