The promotional week for next Saturday’s fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall had a very special event this Wednesday in which both got on a boat with a built-in ring and did public sparring, in addition to a one-on-one.
Shields, the World Boxing Association (WBA) women’s bantamweight champion and holder of the WBC and IBF belts, will take on WBO champion Marshall in a highly anticipated showdown.
As the ship sailed through the waters of London with all the fighters who will be present at Saturday’s event at the O2 Arena, everyone had their turn to step into the ring and show off for the cameras during light combat sessions.
In the end there was a great confrontation between Shields and Marshall in which the WBA champion showed her two Olympic medals on her chest as a reminder of her record, despite the fact that the Briton has beaten her before in amateur boxing.
The atmosphere continues to heat up and both will carry out different activities before next Saturday, when the undisputed 160 lbs. the champion will be decided.
