Scouse Wrexham forward wants to face Liverpool in ‘dream’ FA Cup tie

Anfield is set to host the FA Cup third round draw and with this being the point at which Premier League teams enter the competition, a former youth prospect for us dreams of a game against the Liverpool.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Paul Mullin described his dream draw: “Liverpool at Anfield or Everton here [at home]. I would like to play for any of those teams, but I hope Liverpool.

“It has been my dream since I was a child to go out to Anfield in a competitive game and I hope I can do it.”

Having recently seen his name in the news after he was not allowed to wear boots that read: ‘F**k the Tories’, the Wrexham striker has strong ties to the town in which he was born.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed seasons with Tranmere Rovers, but his heart has always been at Anfield and it would be a special moment for him to play against his boyhood team.

With the new ownership of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, the Welsh club are pushing for a return to the Football League and we could even be featured in their Disney+ documentary, should the tie go ahead.

As trophy holders and the most decorated club in the country, it’s fair to assume that most players will be dreaming of a visit to L4, so we’ll have to wait and see who is the lucky team.

Jurgen Klopp will be fully focused on beating any opposition that comes our way and charting a route back to Wembley.
