Ronaldo Believes Neymar Can Play at the Next FIFA World Cup

Ronaldo Nazário believes that the star of the Brazilian soccer team Neymar Jr can play in the next FIFA World Cup.

Neymar and Brazil had World Cup heartbreak when Croatia knocked them out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in the quarterfinals. Brazil entered the latest edition of FIFA’s flagship as one of the favorites to win the coveted trophy at the end of the month-long tournament in Qatar.

Brazil sealed their place in the round of 16 after finishing on top of the points table in Group G. The South American heavyweights then dismantled South Korea 4-1 in the round of 16 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

However, Brazil, which has won the FIFA World Cup title five times, failed to advance beyond the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, they faced Croatia, who defeated them on penalties after the two teams remained level at the end of extra time.

It was a disappointing end for Neymar and Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. There have already been suggestions that Neymar might not appear at another edition of the FIFA World Cup.

Neymar turned 30 earlier this year and will be 34 when the next World Cup starts. And Ronaldo believes that his compatriot can play in the next World Cup.

“I think Neymar is very upset with the result of the World Cup for the Brazilian team,” Ronaldo told the AP. [via GOAL].

“It’s normal for him to feel like this for now, but I’m also sure he’ll come back stronger and continue playing for the national team. He is still young… I think he can play the next World Cup”, added Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, Neymar scored twice for Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His first goal for Brazil at Qatar 2022 came in their 4-1 rout of South Korea. Neymar converted a penalty in that game.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar also scored for Brazil against Croatia in the quarter-final clash. It was Neymar who opened the scoring in the game. He started the play that led to the goal – playing two one-two – before rounding off the goalkeeper and sending the ball into an empty net.

However, Croatia rallied their way into the game and scored to force a penalty shootout, where the European nation edged past Brazil.
