Romano says ‘don’t write Liverpool off yet’ after transfer priority claim

Few would have expected Liverpool to be right in the middle of the table in 10th place after the first seven games of the league campaign.

Regardless, Fabrizio Romano has warned against canceling the Reds’ season for the time being, backing Jurgen Klopp’s men to still make it into the top four.

“They are very happy with the latest additions like Luis Díaz and Ibrahima Konate, and their plan continues for the present and the future… They have told me that the priority will be a top-level midfielder, then at the end of the season we will see how they will decide. carry on,” the Guardian reporter wrote for Caught Offside (via Live 4 Liverpool). “Don’t rule Liverpool out yet, I think this team is still very good and capable of getting into the top four.”

Make no mistake, Champions League football is going to be the bare minimum when it comes to potentially securing top talent in the middle of the park.

Hundreds of fingers will be crossed as we look to avoid another false dawn ahead of our next top-flight clash with league leaders Arsenal following our 2-0 win over Rangers.

Although a run of games including a draw with Manchester City promises another collapse for Liverpool, it should be seen as an opportunity to reaffirm our ambitions for the campaign and status as a true title contender.

A change of formation and personnel certainly suggests that the quadruple Reds of 2021/22 can still be resurrected, although it will still be a tall order for us to come out of next week with more than three points.

Regardless, we’re hoping for another big win against the Gunners to help chart a path back into the top four.
