Reports emerged earlier this week that RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku had his medical with Chelsea. The London team is in negotiations with the German team to sign the talented attacker next summer.

Now, trusted transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the France international had his medical with the Blues a few weeks ago. All parties involved in the deal wanted to keep the deal a secret, but it somehow broke into the media.

However, the deal is far from complete as both clubs are still negotiating the structure of the deal. In his column for Caught Offside, Romano wrote: “This doesn’t mean it’s a done deal, the medical was done a few weeks ago and Chelsea sent the player a proposal, which he is happy with.

But with RB Leipzig, there is still work to be done on a deal.
