Romano gives update on Mychajlo Mudryk

Football transfer news: Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk is currently among the most wanted footballers in Europe.

Mudryk joined Donetsk’s youth academy in 2016 and worked through the club’s youth ranks to make his senior debut during the 2018-19 season. He has played 20 league games for the Cup team so far, scoring two goals.

The 22-year-old attacker was part of the Skakhtar team that won the Ukrainian Premier League title during the 2019-20 season.

His performances at Olimpiyskiy also earned him a place in the Ukraine national team. He has represented the Eastern European nation six times since his debut earlier this year.

According to the reliable transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, Shakhtar Donetsk have not changed their position on attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk. They still want a transfer fee of over €50m to sell their prized asset.

The Ukraine international was linked with a move to the English Premier League during the recently concluded transfer window. Everton made an offer close to 30 million euros to sign him, which was rejected by the Ukrainian club.

However, a number of PL clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, continue to monitor him and are expected to make an approach to sign him during future windows.

Mychajlo Mudryk: style of play

Mudryk is a versatile footballer who is comfortable playing in various positions in midfield and attack. His key strengths are his pace and dribbling skills, along with his ability to find his teammates in key goal-scoring positions.

The Ukraine international has made two UEFA Champions League appearances this season, registering two goals and two assists. According to WhoScored, he has averaged one shot, one key pass and two dribbles per 90 in the UCL this term.
