Roma struggling to keep two Juventus targets Zaniolo and Smalling

Juventus want to buy AS Roma at the end of this season, and two Giallorossi players have been linked with a move to the club.

The Bianconeri have a long-standing interest in Nicolo Zaniolo, as the attacker shines for José Mourinho’s side in Serie A and Europe. However, his contract expires in 2024.

As one of the talented Italians in Serie A, Roma should be keen to keep him, which should make them rush to negotiate a contract.

However, a report from Tuttojuve reveals that they are very relaxed about their future and there have been no new contacts between the club and their entourage for a new agreement.

Chris Smalling is also a target for the black and white and English is a key player for them, but they have not made new contacts to reach a new agreement.

Juve FC says

Smalling and Zaniolo are above-average players and we probably won’t need them, considering they’re unlikely to be part of our current options.

If we want an update on the players we have now, we need to look for better options and not show interest in Smalling, who is close to retiring.

Zaniolo is much younger, but the Azzurri star will have a hard time making his mark in the current Juve squad.
