Rio Ferdinand Urges Man Utd to Sign Harry Kane in the Summer

Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England national soccer team striker Harry Kane in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester United are in the January transfer market looking to sign an attacker, and the club currently have few options in the attacking department following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the club in November last year.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in November after both parties agreed to terminate the Portuguese superstar’s contract with the club. The decision to separate came after Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Wout Weghorst, who currently plays for Turkish side Besiktas on loan from Burnley, has been linked with a loan move to the Old Trafford outfit, and Manchester United would be interested in the services of the Dutch international. But the 30-year-old is expected to be a short-term attacking option for the Red Devils for the rest of the season.

Speaking on his Vibe With Five YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand urged Manchester United to pay “big money” and sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, whom he insisted will win nothing at his current club next summer.

Rio Ferdinand also pointed out that even if Man Utd spent a lot of money on Harry Kane, they would get a striker who can get them 20-25 goals a season every year.

“Bring in Harry Kane. Spurs fans, sorry. You’re not going to win anything. He’s not going to win anything at Spurs. They’re a little confused right now,” Rio Ferdinand said.

“Man United, if you’re going to go in the summer: ‘We’re going to look for a number nine for the next three or four years to hang our hats on, to get 20-25 goals a season every year’, where are you going? having to pay a lot of money for Harry Kane. But at least you know you have a man who scores between 20 and 25 goals a season. So Harry Kane can’t go anywhere but Man United.”

Harry Kane has been impressive for Tottenham Hotspur in the 22/23 season. The England international has already racked up 17 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in 26 appearances so far this 22/23 season.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Harry Kane will renew his contract with Tottenham Hotspur or not. If he decides not to, he is likely to attract transfer interest from several top clubs.
