Richard Keys says Klopp could drop ‘sulking’ LFC star for Man City

Richard Keys suggested that Jurgen Klopp could drop Mo Salah for Manchester City’s visit to Anfield at the weekend.

The beIN Sports journalist accused the King of Egypt of ‘sulking’ during the 3-2 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

“It is deeper than a bad-tempered Salah who is out of place. He couldn’t kick stable butt right now. Why? I could understand a slow start if it had improved. But he hasn’t,” the sportscaster wrote on his blog.

“And we haven’t seen anything from him since the African Cup of Nations. Any.

“Klopp took him out on Sunday. I wonder if he will consider not starting him in the next league match.”

The result leaves the Merseysiders languishing in 10th place before a crucial meeting with the Sky Blues.

Perhaps it’s a bit of an unfair claim on our number 11, who Klopp felt was “amazing” (at least as far as defensive contributions go) that day.

There are genuine concerns about the former Chelsea hitman’s goal-scoring rate of late, though it’s worth noting that he has taken on a more creative role in light of the arrival of Darwin Nunez.

By his own standards, of course, it’s clear that Salah has yet to reach the dizzying heights of his form in the 2021/22 campaign, particularly in the first half of the season.

We have absolutely no doubt that the Egyptian international, along with the rest of our underperforming talents, will be back at their best regardless.
