Report – Juventus is targeting Premier League Argentinian

Juventus are working to find a long-term successor for Wojciech Szczęsny, although the Pole is still one of the best goalkeepers in Europe at the moment.

He is already 32 years old and Juve believe now is the time to find a successor for him while they can and reports have linked several targets with a move to the club.

Mattia Perin has also done well when replacing SzczÄ™sny, but Juve don’t seem to trust him as a long-term option.

A report in Calciomercatoweb has now named Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez as the man they want to see become their next number one.

The report claims that the Bianconeri are exploring various options and he is one of them, although he seems quite happy to play for the Premier League club.

Juve FC says

Martinez has become one of the best goalkeepers playing right now due to his performances for club and country.

He will thrive in Turin, but Szczęsny is still too good to be replaced and goalkeepers typically peak in their 30s, meaning his prime is yet to come.

Martinez will demand to become number one immediately, which is highly unlikely and could ruin our plans.
