Melkamu Frauendorf has explained that he is keen to earn more first-team minutes at Liverpool this season after making his second senior appearance for the club in November.
The 19-year-old started against Derby County in the League Cup and was one of many youngsters given a chance by Jurgen Klopp that night.
The Germany under-19 international showed glimpses of his potential on the night, now explaining that he feels right at home on Merseyside after joining from Hoffenheim in 2020.
“I’m happy with my progress,” Frauendorf told Liverpoolfc.com (via Liverpool Echo).
“The style of play is good for me and it’s working well, so I just try to improve every day and I have the goal to keep improving.
“If I can do that, I hope to have more opportunities with the first team.
“I am very happy at this club. I like the people and I like training here, so I really enjoy playing for Liverpool.”

The versatile forward was also part of the club’s training camp in Dubai last month, while some Liverpool players represented their respective nations at the World Cup in Qatar.
Frauendorf featured in both games against AC Milan and Lyon while in the Middle East and has discussed what it was like to be close to the first team.
“It was amazing,” added Frauendorf. “That was the second time I was away with the first team and traveling to Dubai was a great experience for me again.
“Having the opportunity to train with the first team players and spend time with them helped me learn even more and then I was able to try and improve different parts of my game.
“All the staff and players helped me with that and I really enjoyed the trip and being in the first-team environment.”
The youngster will look to continue to impress for Barry Lewtas’ Under-21 squad in the coming weeks, while his long-term goal is to make a breakthrough through the senior team on a regular basis.
