Redknapp says Liverpool’s season will ‘ride on these next two games’

Liverpool have had a strange season and have failed to ensure any real consistency in our results, but Jamie Redknapp believes the results of our next two games will shape the course of our campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the ex-Red said: “I think Liverpool’s season will almost be based on these next two games, they have meetings with Wolves and Manchester United.

“When you identify the games as a Liverpool player, they are the ones that can determine the season, especially when you are in a situation like this, when you are a bit fragile, everything can go crazy on March 5. if they can get a win (against Man Utd) and get a win against Wolves in midweek.

“These are the games that define the seasons and suddenly, finishing in the top four becomes a realistic ambition.”

It seems likely that we’re going to hit several more bumps in the road before the season ends, so perhaps these games won’t matter as much as suggested here.

There’s no doubt that winning the next two games would be great, but sadly, there’s also no certainty that winning them doesn’t mean we’ll lose the two games after that anyway.
