Welcome to the Fight Freaks Unite recap podcast coming off a good weekend of fights that included heavyweight Joe Joyce’s 11th round knockout of Joseph Parker to win an interim title in a fantastic fight, the dominating victory Shakur Stevenson over Robson Conceicao and Floyd Mayweather’s second-round knockout of Japanese MMA champion Mikuru Asakura in an exhibition fight.

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk’s comments about wanting just three more fights before retiring against Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez and a farewell fight at home in Kyiv.
The WBA has formally ordered Gennadiy Golovkin to defend his middleweight title against “regular” champion Erislandy Lara.
Gervonta “Tank” Davis’ plea deal stems from a November 2020 hit-and-run case that was denied by the judge with a trial date set for December 12.
Stevenson’s dominant decision over Conceicao despite being stripped of his unified junior lightweight titles for missing weight and the huge crowd it drew. Shakur is now 19-0, 9 KO’s and has won world titles at featherweight and super featherweight.
We also talked about the knockout victory of prominent lightweight prospect and former Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis in the co-feature.
Next, the tremendous battle between Joyce and Parker, who put on a great show, and where Joyce is going now that he is the president of Usyk. But that proposed fight is on the way, if it ever happens. Joyce is now 15-0, 13 KOs and the interim WBO champion.
Also, Amanda Serrano’s one-sided featherweight unification win over Sarah Mahfoud and the possibility of a rematch with Katie Taylor could be an issue now that Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, is suing Jake Paul, Serrano’s promoter. Hearn wants $100 million for comments Paul made recently accusing Hearn of paying a judge to score for his fighter in multiple fights.
