The Spanish club Real Madrid faces a big dilemma.
The Whites have been linked with Manchester United’s two main midfield targets: Enzo Fernández and Jude Bellingham.
During the World Cup, the Red Devils emerged as potential suitors for Fernández, who won the Young Player of the Tournament award for his heroism leading to the final which was won by the Albiceleste.
Bellingham also had a fantastic individual tournament and showed why all the best clubs in Europe are desperate for his signature.
Fichajes reports that while Madrid are big fans of both youngsters, they will have to choose which one to pursue.
The LaLiga champions must decide which way to go, since the cost of the operation to attract both to the Santiago Bernabéu would be unsustainable.
Transfers broadcast: “Although at some point they have considered casting their net on both players, the Merengue board has come to the conclusion that, due to its high cost, it will only be possible to sign one of them during the next summer market. ”
“The fact that both players require an investment of more than 100 million euros has forced the entity from Chamartín [Real Madrid board] to establish an order of priorities and put English at the top of your list.”
Transfers adds: “The Kings of Europe put Bellingham ahead, it is their great wish, but being aware that if they manage to sign him, Enzo will go to another team.”
Bellingham has a contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2025.
The German team demands a fee of up to 150 million euros for whoever wants to get the services of the teenager. Despite Erik ten Hag’s admission and admiration for Bellingham, it’s hard to see United dishing out such an amount when there are other pressing positions to tackle.
If Fichajes is right and Madrid prioritize Bellingham, United could have a clear chance with Fernández or stay with Liverpool, who are also well-known fans.
