Real Madrid set to begin Jude Bellingham transfer campaign – Man United News And Transfer News

Real Madrid are said to be starting a campaign to persuade Jude Bellingham to join the club next summer.

Manchester United had been close to signing the youngster in 2020 before he decided to join Borussia Dortmund.

The Bellingham family met Sir Alex Ferguson, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Michael Carrick and Bryan Robson at United’s training facility in Carrington.

Robson, who is part of a group of expert advisers to chief executive Richard Arnold, recently said that United “thought we had him and he would have been a great signing for us.”

According to The Athletic, United retain a keen interest in long-term target Bellingham. Laurie Whitwell stated that the club had seen the Birmingham academy graduate 46 times since she was 12 years old.

Bellingham, considered one of the best U-21 midfielders in the world, is expected to have plenty of suitors this summer after his third season in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are said to be ready to go all out for the 19-year-old at the end of the season.

Dortmund, however, will resist for a price of 150 million euros and is trying to offer him a new exceptional contract, according to The Athletic.

Meanwhile, Madrid is starting to launch a “charm offensive” according to MARCA, who have claimed that work on the proposal has already started, although the proposal remains in “its infancy”.

Those responsible for the Bernabéu consider that signing for Bellingham next summer represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Los Blancos are also said to be at the forefront of their efforts by dressing Bellingham up with the epithet “young galactic,” according to sources Mike McGrath and Jason Burt.

The Champions League champions have already drastically reshaped their midfield by signing world-class French youngsters Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélian Tchouaméni, two players United had been heavily linked with in the past.

Although John Murtough and Richard Arnold delivered excellent midfielders – Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to Old Trafford last summer, Erik ten Hag is keen to add youthful energy and potential as he looks to create a dynamic midfield that will challenge for the title.
