Real Madrid eying a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot

Defending La Liga champions Real Madrid hold a keen interest in French international Adrien Rabiot, who currently plays for Italian club Juventus.

Adrien Rabiot joined Paris Saint-Germain’s youth setup after spending time at various other academies.

Under Carlo Ancelotti, Rabiot was promoted to the main Saint-Germain pairs team. He was soon loaned out to Toulouse. Rabiot returned from a successful loan spell the following year and became an important member of the PSG team.

He won eighteen major honours, including five Ligue 1 titles for the Paris-based team. The midfielder eventually joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2019. Rabiot has already played for France’s senior team and was a member of the UEFA Nations League-winning team.

Real Madrid looking to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot

Now, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, La Liga giants Real Madrid are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.

Real Madrid currently has one of the best midfields in the world. They recently signed players like Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni. They also own that Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde is entering his prime.

But on the other hand, they have players like Modric and Kroos who will hang up their boots soon. For this reason, Madrid is already looking for spare parts that can take the place of this duo at the time.

Now it has been understood that Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti really likes French midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The midfielder’s contract will also expire at the end of the season. Hence, Real Madrid is following him.

Now, since his move to Juventus, Rabiot has failed to reach the heights of his days at PSG. Although he has been one of Juventus’ best players in the current season, the midfielder has come under heavy criticism in the recent past.

Juventus is going through a difficult moment. They have only won four matches in Serie A and even a place in the top four now seems difficult for the Bianconeri.

In European competition, his record is even worse. He lost three of his first four games and is about to be eliminated from the group stage. They desperately need new signings to refresh their squad.

To do so, Juventus will release some of its players next summer. And it seems that they are not going to extend Rabiot’s contract.

So if Real Madrid really want the midfielder, there are not many possible obstacles for them.
