Real Madrid eyeing Lisandro Martinez after his impressive start to Manchester United career – Man United News And Transfer News

Erik ten Hag has made a huge impact since he was appointed Manchester United’s new manager. The work he had undertaken was not an easy task, but he seems to be thriving in his new role.

After a dismal last season, the Dutchman has already managed to get his players to play the way he wants them to and has upgraded previously underperforming stars.

They have undertaken a major rebuilding job and so far have recruited immensely well and one of the best new players has been former Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

Lisandro, the favorite of United fans

The 24-year-old was a huge success during his Ajax days and it was hard for Ten Hag not to bring the Argentina international along with him to the Red Devils.

The Argentine has been a revelation since his move to Old Trafford and is the only player to have played every game this season. such is the importance of him to the manager’s plans.

His bravery and habit of putting his body on the line during all-action displays have already endeared him to the Old Trafford faithful.

The versatile defender had been courted for months by Premier League rivals Arsenal but decided to come to Manchester, which has raised his status with fans.

The impressive performances of the Argentina international have already alerted several European giants and Real Madrid are said to be interested in acquiring his services next summer.

Real eye Martinez moved

According to Defensa Central, the whites will again bet on a central defensive reinforcement given the uncertainty surrounding Nacho’s future.

The veteran defender’s contract expires next summer and a contract extension has yet to be agreed and the madridistas are preparing for a contingency in case a resolution is not presented.

The La Liga side have recruited centre-backs in each of their last three seasons: Eder Militao, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger. And they plan to make Martinez their fourth straight.

However, United and Ten Hag will not consider such a request anytime soon considering his importance to the club and the length of his contract.
