Carlo Ancelloti confirmed that Real Madrid is not looking to sign new players in this January transfer window. However, they could be open to offers for five players. According to AS, Los Blancos are open to offers for Álvaro Odriozola, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Díaz.
Ancelloti would like some of them to continue this summer. However, if an offer arrives, these players will be able to leave. It would also depend on the offer if Real Madrid is convinced to sell these players or not.
Although the departures of some players will have little impact this season. But currently, Los Blancos do not have much depth in their squad. They could be just a few injuries away from crises. Therefore, any move would depend on some permutations and combinations.
Currently, Real Madrid is fighting on three fronts. They are second in LaLiga. But they are tied at 38 points with Barcelona. Their Copa del Rey ambitions are still alive. They are in Round 32 of the competition. While in the Champions League, they will face Liverpool.
Real Madrid will be busy in the January transfer market
It would not be surprising if Álvaro Odriozola left in January. The Spaniard has yet to appear in any games for Los Blancos. Juventus and AS Roma have also shown interest in him.
While Dani Ceballos has played in recent games. He has been impressive of late for the Spanish outfit. The Spaniard has given good backs to Toni Kross and Luka Modric. Therefore, there is a possibility that he will stay at the club.
However, his contract expires next summer. As for Marco Asensio, he is liked by Ancelloti. But he is currently not a starter for the club. Besides, his contract expires next summer. Whether or not Los Blancos will offer the duo an extension remains to be seen.
While Eden Hazard has hardly appeared this season. Although it is no longer surprising. The Belgian has hardly been able to find a good form since his arrival in Spain. Marino Díaz also exceeds the requirement. But he is the only recognized striker after Karim Benzema.
What’s next for Real Madrid?
The whites are looking for reinforcements for next season. They need to identify replacements for Benzema and Modric. They are both in their thirties.
Erling Haaland has been touted as Benzema’s replacement. While the name of Rafael Leao from AC Milan has also been mentioned. As for Modric, Jude Bellingham, from Borussia Dortmund, has been linked to the club.
While the fullback is also an area where they struggled. Both Dani Carjval and Ferland Mendy have been inconsistent. Real Madrid is looking for players who can show consistency.
Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich is a target for Real Madrid. Some have suggested Chelsea’s Recce James as a right-back option. However, considering his injury history, Los Blancos could consider other options.
