Raphael Varane trains in France XI ahead of World Cup clash with Denmark – Man United News And Transfer News

Raphael Varane will return to action in France’s World Cup group match against Denmark after recovering from the injury sustained while playing for Manchester United.

The news comes from reliable French outlet L’Equipe, who reports that Varane was involved in Les Bleus’ last training session.

Held behind closed doors, Varane was seen queuing up with Dayot Upamecano.

That would suggest Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate will be relegated to the bench.

Jules Kounde has filled the right-back role, meaning United’s potential target Benjamin Pavard will also miss out.

Aside from that defensive change, France is likely to play the same team that defeated Australia 4-1 in their first group game.

Varane was injured during Man United’s 1–1 draw against Chelsea on 22 October and struggled to make it to the tournament.

He missed the game against Australia, but the French fans will be delighted to have their star centre-back ready for action on Matchday 2.

As for the United fans, the hope is that Varane has not made a quick comeback from injury.

The hamstring injury suffered at Stamford Bridge has been a regular problem for the former Real Madrid player.

Erik ten Hag will surely want Varane to return to Old Trafford without discomfort or fatigue.

He has forged a fantastic partnership with summer signing Lisandro Martinez at the heart of the Red Devils’ defense and will be crucial to Manchester United’s second half of the season.
