Raphael Varane posts impressive stats for France – Man United News And Transfer News

Last night, France played Austria in the Nations League and defeated them 2-0.

It was Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud who scored, but Manchester United’s Raphael Varane made a change and played the full 90 minutes for Didier Deschamps’ side.

Varane played a good game and was crucial to his country’s success as the stats show, solid at back, made four clearances, helping to defend a clean sheet.

Varane had a tough job on his hands as he was tasked with eliminating any chance a fit Marko Arnautovic had in the future.

As such, Arnautovic was substituted around the sixty minute mark after failing to make an impact.

Varane’s passing accuracy was also outstanding, with 59 passes completed at 92% accuracy.

Meanwhile, 100% of his long balls were completed as he perfectly picked his teammates and launched them on the attack.

He had 73 touches and won all three of his aerial duels.

It was a meeting in which the United defender came face to face with former boss Ralf Rangnick as he now manages Austria.

France needed the win as a loss would have seen them relegated. They will face Denmark on Sunday in the Group A final.

Meanwhile, United are hoping that Varane will remain fit and healthy coming out of the international break, as he is very likely to be called up for the Manchester derby the following week.
