Liverpool and Ajax meet in the Champions League group stage for the second time in three seasons, and the Reds’ teams in 2020/21 look a bit different to what awaits them in 2022/23.
The Reds met Ajax in 2020 and inflicted a 1-0 defeat both at home and away, with Jurgen Klopp’s men topping Group D while the Dutch side fell out of the Europa League.
Two years later, the two teams meet again in the group stage, but things look a bit different in terms of personnel and with regards to the environment in which the games will be played.
Six Liverpool players who featured in both group stage matches in 2020 have left Anfield permanently, while this time the matches will be played in front of a crowd rather than behind closed doors.
