Pundit explains why LFC have ‘advantage’ over City in Bellingham pursuit

Ray Parlor believes Liverpool now have “a bit more of an advantage” over Manchester City in the search for Jude Bellingham after it was revealed earlier this week that the Cityzens were accused of breaching various financial rules from the Premier League.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is attracting interest from several top clubs in Europe with his impressive performances for club and country this season, making it likely that he will leave the Bundesliga side in the summer.

The talented teenager has a difficult decision to make at the end of the season, but Arsenal legend Parlor thinks it may be a “bit of a turn off” to join Pep Guardiola’s side amid ongoing investigations.

“Yeah, you’ll get a bit bummed out,” Parlor told talkSPORT (via HITC). “But you will get the right advice. You will sit down with his team, go through everything and see what scenario is going to happen.

“All it does is give an advantage to other clubs that are going to compete with you.

“Take Bellingham for example. Liverpool need a midfielder. I’m sure they’ll be interested in Bellingham right away. Real Madrid (also).

“Teams like that, you could have a little more advantage, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to what is happening at Manchester City.”

It remains to be seen what action will be taken against the Sky Blues as a result of their cheating.

Rumors circulating online suggest the punishments could range from point deductions, relegation and stripping of their Premier League titles.

Former Liverpool stars Lucas Leiva and José Enrique have already joked that they deserve winners’ medals after they were part of the Reds team that finished runners-up to City during the epic 2013/14 campaign.

We certainly expect Bellingham to opt to move to Anfield in the summer and if City’s current situation convinces him to go to Merseyside instead of Manchester, we won’t have any complaints.
