Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier believes that Lionel Messi can once again be the best player in the world.
After joining PSG last season, Lionel Messi had a very difficult start. The striker struggled to score goals and only scored 6 in the Ligue 1 campaign. This led many people to believe that the Argentine has lost his superhuman finish and is not among the best players in the world.
But Messi being Messi proved everyone wrong. The Argentine advanced the 2022-23 season on a high note and once again demonstrated his class.
Messi has already scored seven goals for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions this year. He has also given eight assists so far. Overall, the Argentine is one of the fittest players in the world.
Galtier talks about Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi scored a majestic free kick to help PSG beat Nice 2-1 at the Parc des Princes yesterday. This was Messi’s first free kick goal in a PSG shirt and the 60th of his career.
After that match, Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier praised the striker’s efforts and explained why Lionel Messi can once again be the best player in the world.
“He has scored again, he is decisive again. Can he be the best player in the world again? Yes. He is in incredible shape. … He is well prepared,” Galtier said (via L’Equipe) after the match.
The PSG coach further added: “Every day, he has a relationship with his training partners that leads me to believe that he is happy and therefore performs well. This allows him to get back to the standards that he was at, not in previous seasons, but throughout his career.”
After the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier was appointed by the French club to manage his team. Since he joined the club, the French coach has done very well. PSG had a great start to their Ligue 1 campaign and are now on pole position.

Messi joined PSG at the start of the 2021-22 season on a 2-year contract. The Argentine’s contract comes to an end in the next nine months. However, he is still at his best and PSG have reportedly given him an extension deal.
Messi will now hope to carry on his rich form and arrive at the World Cup in the best possible shape.
After the World Cup, he will make a decision about his future at PSG and decide whether to continue here or not.
