Prospect Geremi Vera closes the year in style in the WBA Future Venezuela  – World Boxing Association

On Saturday, December 16, at the Ayer Recreation Center, Turmero, Venezuela, the third and final edition of the Future of Venezuelan Boxing WBA 2023 was held, which was organized by Morón Box of the Venezuelan promoter Rafael Morón, with the support of the National of Venezuela. The boxing spectacle began at 2:00 p.m. (Venezuelan time) with a split decision victory for the 24-year-old boxer, Josber Sánchez (2-0-1) against his compatriot Dereck Areimano (0-2). Then, Jesús Rojas (12-0) of Caracas extended his undefeated record with a unanimous decision victory over Rafael Márquez (2-4).

Brian Rodríguez (4-0), a 24-year-old from Caracas, defeated Josmer Franco (4-10-1), a 25-year-old from Merida, by knockout in the first round, in one of the most talked-about fights of the event.

Gleybert “Canelito” Maia (3-0), 20, extended his perfect performance in the ring with a unanimous decision victory over Neys Salcedo, 24. Canelito once again showed his effective combinations, the way he dominated the center of the ring and every moment of the fight.

In the women’s fight in the afternoon, Darly Perozo (2-0), 22, from Lara, defeated debutant Yenifer Mireles (0-1), 21, in a tough and very physical fight by unanimous decision. In the co-main event, Armando Suárez (2-1) defeated 23-year-old Pablo Gamarro (1-2) from Zulia by split decision.

Finally, in the main fight, starring the pupil of former world champion Roger Gutiérrez, the 18-year-old Zuliano prospect Geremi Vera (5-0) continues with a perfect pace in the ring, after winning a more than complicated duel, which At times he did not succeed. He did not have a clear dominator, against Yeison Hernández (6-6), 28 years old. Vera showed his interesting boxing tools, along with a powerful punch, effective blows and without losing the initiative at any time.
