Premier League giants could be obligated to sign player from Newcastle

Manchester United are reportedly facing an obligation to turn the loan transfer of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka into a permanent deal if he makes a certain number of appearances.

Dubravka lost his place at Newcastle United before his loan to Man Utd this summer, and has yet to get many opportunities at Old Trafford.

Still, there’s a clause in there for the Red Devils that would trigger a permanent transfer, if they decide to make use of it.

Discussing Dubravka’s situation with Give Me Sport, Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth said: “United have Dubravka on loan and they have an option to buy Dubravka in the summer.

“I understand that the option becomes an obligation depending on the number of appearances he makes.

“If he doesn’t activate that number of appearances, he will return to Newcastle United and then Manchester United will look for another goalkeeper on the market.”
