Erik ten Hag has given every indication that he will field his strongest Manchester United for the Premier League clash with Manchester City tomorrow.
And for probably the first time since the Dutchman took over as manager, it seems pretty clear who he considers to be among those starting 11.
In defence, he will almost certainly play Diogo Dalot if he has recovered from the hamstring problem he reinjured against Charlton in midweek.
Ten Hag has reported that it was nothing serious and that they removed his right back as a precaution, so we expect him to start.
Luke Shaw was rested for that game, but is likely to return before Tyrell Malacia.
In his current form, Shaw is undoubtedly the better option.
Ten Hag is expected to call up Raphael Varane as Lisandro MartÃnez’s partner at central defender.
Harry Maguire kept a clean sheet alongside Martinez against the Addicks, but did not perform particularly well.
It is almost certain that Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will return in midfield and Bruno Fernandes at number 10, having served a one-match suspension.
Anthony Martial was also rested against Charlton and will no doubt take his place up front, flanked by fit Marcus Rashford and Antony.
United are hoping loan-out Wout Weghorst will register before today’s midday deadline to qualify, so he could be an interesting wild-card option on the bench.
