Potter identifies key reason as to why Chelsea are underperforming

Graham Potter is under pressure at Chelsea as the west London club’s recent performances have been disappointing and the English manager may have identified a reason for this.

Potter landed the job at Chelsea thanks to the splendid job he did at Brighton and in his previous jobs with the Seagulls. swansea and Ostersunds, the 47-year-old earned a reputation as a hands-on coach who rigorously worked on patterns of play and team form in training.

According to the Daily Mail, Potter is believed to feel that his training sessions at chelsea they are undermined by having too many players to work with and find it difficult to get their messages across.

The West London club currently field a first-team squad of 31 after an extraordinary January transfer window that saw owners he spent £323m on eight new players, with only Jorginho the only big name to leave.

This is a valid point that has already been made by many pundits and the issue is certainly having an impact at Chelsea. The owners of the Blues have left Potter in an impossible situation since managing that amount of players, who are also big names, is very difficult.

The west London club need to cut their squad significantly in the summer and should give Potter pre-season and the start of next season before pulling the plug on the project.
