Potter Disappointed With Chelsea’s Performance in Arsenal Defeat

Chelsea manager Graham Potter admitted he was disappointed with the Blues’ performance in their loss to Arsenal.

Chelsea hosted Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League match on Sunday and succumbed to a 1-0 loss to the Gunners.

The Blues were the second best team throughout as Arsenal dominated the game and secured a deserved win and three important points. After a goalless first half, Arsenal scored the winning goal and the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute.

Bukayo Saka’s poor shot from a corner from the right beat everyone at the near post and Gabriel Magalhaes struck at the far post to put Arsenal 1-0 up.

Despite trailing by a goal, Chelsea never seemed to find an equalizer as the Blues struggled to create clear chances.

Speaking after the match, Potter admitted that he was disappointed with Chelsea’s performance in their loss to Arsenal.

Potter said that Chelsea huffed and puffed at the game, and that it’s always disappointing to lose a game the way they did.

“Sure, it’s always losing a game like we did. We huff and puff, I thought, but I think you can see the difference between the two teams in terms of confidence, in terms of the points they have, in terms of their structure and working together,” the Chelsea manager said. [via Football.London].

The defeat leaves Chelsea seventh in the Premier League points table. The west London side have 21 points from 13 league games this season.

Chelsea are 13 points behind Arsenal, who have 34 points from 13 games. In the race for the top four, the west London side are five points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who have 26 points from 14 games.
