Radek Vitek – 8 – Kept United in the game with a remarkable double save early on and then followed it up with several top-tier saves throughout the match. Unfortunately, a poor decision to try to run and sweep a fast break saw Brighton easily score for their third. But overall it was a good performance from the Czech goalkeeper, following in the footsteps of Matej Kovar, who has also impressed of late.

Marc Jurado – 6.5 – He had a tough time defensively in the first half, but he came out much better in the second half and went well forward, approaching the goal with great effort.

Rhys Bennett – 6.5 – His passing improved a lot today and he defended well for the most part.

Tyler Fredricson – 6.5 – Made a number of key interventions against a strong opponent in Evan Ferguson, but allowed too much room at times. With the ball he showed a good range of passes from behind.

Bjorn Hardley – 7.5 – Tested by Odeluga Offiah’s pace, but rose to the challenge and held his own. He too often went ahead and grabbed the late draw.

Toby Collyer – 7 – Kept things tidy on the ball and did a good job cleaning up midfield. He was also a constant danger in the corners as Brighton couldn’t deal with his high jump into the box.

Charle Savage – 7.5 – An energetic display in midfield and he took the play by storm, especially in the second half when he sprayed the ball to great effect. He was unlucky enough not to put his name on the score sheet, hitting the post and forcing a series of good saves and blocks with his long-range shots.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen – 6 – A mixed performance, as he impressed with many tricky plays and passes, but also carelessly gave away possession too often and failed to support Jurado defensively, particularly in the first half.

Kobbie Mainoo – 9 – A great performance from the 17-year-old in a more advanced role than usual. He offered good movement in the last third and finished off his display with two well-executed goals.

Shola Shoretire – 6.5 – A match of moments, as he was involved in all three goals with a delicious chipped cross for Hardley and both corners for the Mainoo brace, but drifted too far out of the match and didn’t back down when playing left back. extreme in the first half.

Charlie McNeill – 6.5 – A display of hard work despite battling illness that finally saw him come out at halftime. He didn’t have his shooting boots on today, but he created a good opportunity for Shoretire and was much more involved in the game than usual this season.
