Queen Elizabeth news: TV personality Piers Morgan believes all sporting events should go as scheduled, even after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who breathed her last on Thursday at the age of 96.

Queen Elizabeth News: Piers Morgan thinks sporting events should go ahead

TV personality Piers feels that all sporting events must go on as planned this weekend despite the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

Citing two reasons why sporting events should have gone ahead as planned, Piers Morgan said: “Sporting events should go on. a) The Queen loved sport and b) It would be great to see/hear large crowds singing the National Anthem in tribute to Her Majesty, as the West Ham fans did magnificently last night”.

Former England and Manchester United player Garry Neville also supported Pierce Morgan’s view and believes “sports can demonstrate” respect for the Queen better than most.

Previously, the Department of Culture, Media and Sports held a meeting on this topic. Then the Government told all sports organizers that this weekend’s sports actions could go ahead and they have no obligation to cancel them. However, still, if they want to cancel the events, they can.

Hearing the news, the English Football Association has decided to cancel all footage for the weekend, including the Women’s Super League grassroots matches, the English Football League and all.

The English Premier League has also decided to suspend matches, stating: “To honor his extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a show of respect, this weekend’s round of Premier League matches will be postponed, including the Monday night”.

Piers Morgan later called this a “ridiculous decision”.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Football Association and the Irish Football Association have also canceled all weekend football matches.
