Picture: Cristiano Ronaldo set for Al-Nassr meeting as agreement draws closer – Man United News And Transfer News

Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is getting closer to moving to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo left United in bitter fashion after conducting a poisonous interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.

In the highly publicized interview, the Portuguese star criticized the club and manager Erik ten Hag for what he perceived to be disrespect on their part.

The 37-year-old also threw a jab at some of his teammates, especially the younger ones.

Since then, Ronaldo has been linked to various clubs, but the strongest links have originated in the Saudi Pro League, such as the Al-Nassr circle.

Several European clubs have rejected advances from Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes, with salary demands and the player’s age being the main sticking points.

However, Ronaldo could finally be ready to return to action. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was photographed at Riyadh airport ahead of a crucial meeting with Al-Nassr club leaders.

Rudy Galetti reports: “Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr have laid out all the details of the contract, on which they agree.”

“Before making a decision, Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner [Georgina] I want to assess Riyadh in terms of environment, atmosphere and life.”

Galetti adds: “If the city suits them and no offers come from Europe, Cristiano Ronaldo will join Al Nassr.”

The duration of the contract that Ronaldo will sign at Al-Nassr is not yet clear.

Some reports have suggested he will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal, while others indicate he will sign a longer one that would allow him to become Saudi Arabia’s ambassador as they look to launch a bid to host the World Cup in 2030.
