Photos: Amanda Serrano Outworks Sarah Mahfoud To Unify Titles

Manchester Arena – In an IBF, IBO, WBO, WBC super featherweight unification clash, Amanda Serrano (43-2-1, 30 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Sarah Mahfoud (11-1 , 3 KO’s).

The scores were 99-92, 97-93 and 97-93.

Serrano was pressing forward with a strong jab. There was a clash of heads in the second that opened a cut above Mahfoud’s hairline. Serrano was dominant in work rate and landed punches as the contest unfolded.

Serrano was digging with head and body shots in the room. Mahfoud had a decent jab, but Serrano was walking through the shots. Serrano was already slowing down a bit in the sixth, but he was still in control with activity and better landed punches. At this point the fight was more of a technical boxing match with Serrano landing the heavier punches as the fight went on, but Mahfoud fared much better in the second half with his boxing.

The fireworks were missing and none of the fighters were in trouble. Serrano simply did more in most rounds.
