Phil Hay says USMNT job is very appealing to Jesse Marsch

Leeds journalist Phil Hay states that Jesse Marsch would like to get a management position with the USMNT in the future.

The US-born coach sees the US national team as a dream job and would like to be a part of it in the future.

The 48-year-old joined the Yorkshire club last season and saved Leeds from relegation on the final day of the season.

Marsch is already well established at Leeds and has brought the American flavor with the signings of Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams this summer.

“As far as the US Men’s National Team goes, Marsch talks about it from time to time,” Hay said. “You know, when they interview him, he brings up the fact that at some point, he sees it as a job that could be for him. Or he sees it as two parts that might as well come together.

“But I think both him and Leeds will wait for a good while before that gets on the agenda. I know, it’s not like the best elite coaches in the world are crawling all over the USA job, but you’d think to take that you’d have to have a good career behind you.

“If it ended early for him at Leeds in the way he did at Leipzig, it would surely weaken his right to that kind of job.” Hay finished.
