Phil Foden Signs Contract Extension With Manchester City

English Premier League giants Manchester City have announced the contract extension of their golden boy Phil Foden.

Phil Foden entered Manchester City’s youth setup at a very young age. He performed extremely well in age group tournaments which earned him a place in England’s junior teams.

Foden seized this opportunity with both hands and was given the chance to represent England at the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The youngster played brilliant football in the tournament and won the Ballon d’Or award. Meanwhile, England lifted the U-17 World Cup. This served as a breakthrough for him.

Just after the end of the World Cup, Foden was promoted to the main team and little by little the young man became one of the key players for Pep Guardiola’s team. Foden has already won thirteen major trophies for Manchester City, including four Premier League titles.

And now another piece of good news has reached City fans. According to the official statement from Manchester City, Phil Foden has signed a contract extension with the Citizens that will keep him at the club until 2027.

Speaking after his contract renewal, an emotional Foden said: “It’s a dream come true. I’ve been a City fan all my life. I have trained here for so many years and I have even been a ball boy.”

The City midfielder added: “I love this club so much so to know I’m going to be a part of it until 2027 feels amazing.”

Foden has played excellent football throughout the season. The midfielder has already scored seven goals and provided three assists in all competitions this season.

The young City midfielder is also a big part of the English squad that will take part in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Foden now hopes to show his great form ahead of the perennial event.

Manchester City are off to a great start to their current campaign in the English Premier League. The Citizens have won seven of their first nine games and are the only undefeated team in the league thus far.
