Pele sends a message to Antony after heartbreaking World Cup elimination – Man United News And Transfer News

Brazilian legend Pelé has offered a word of comfort to the heartbroken Antonio after Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup.

Brazil was left out of the Qatar tournament after losing on penalties to Croatia.

Antony, from Manchester United, came on as a second-half substitute for the Seleçao and made the difference.

However, it was not enough as the South American team fell on penalties against Croatia, which will now face Argentina in the semifinals.

A day after the defeat, a disappointed Antony took to social media to express his regret over Brazil’s dumping.

Antony expressed his pride at having been selected by the now deceased Tite to wear the Brazilian jersey and thanked the fans for their unconditional support throughout the competition.

The winger also made a promise, saying that he, along with the national team, would come back stronger than ever and use their situation as a learning opportunity.

Soccer legend Pelé responded to Antonio’s emotional message in classic fashion.

Pelé wrote: “You [Antony] They are part of the next generation.”

“Don’t give up and stay strong.”

The 82-year-old three-time World Cup winner added in his charming reply to the United man: “History is only the beginning.”

These words of encouragement from a person of Pelé’s caliber will bode well for the United attacker’s confidence going forward.

The fact that he has the support of such a former player, considered by many to be one of the best to ever play the game, will do Antony a lot of good.

Hopefully Antony can shake off the ghosts of the World Cup horror show in Brazil and focus on helping United finish the season strong.
