Paul Pogba makes long awaited second Juventus debut – Man United News And Transfer News

Paul Pogba made his long-awaited second debut for Juventus last night, in Serie A.

As reported by calciomercato.com, Pogba came on as a substitute shortly before game time in Juve’s 4-2 derby against Torino.

Juventus had to work for their victory, having to come from behind twice before finally seeing off their energetic neighbours.

The scores were tied at two a piece before Pogba was introduced, to the excitement and applause of the home faithful, who cheered his side to victory.

The Frenchman didn’t have a direct impact on any of the goals, but his presence certainly raised the mood and he will be very relieved to have a few minutes under his belt.

A knee injury sustained in pre-season has kept him sidelined for the entire season, since moving from Manchester United in the summer.

Similar injury problems plagued Pogba’s later years at United and the club’s reluctance to offer the midfielder a contract he was happy with likely stemmed from his inability to stay fit for a full spell.

In the end, Pogba left Manchester for Turin for free for the second time in his career.

When he’s in tears, Paul Pogba’s circus and all that comes with it can be hard to stop. His repercussion in the public as well as his undoubted quality can win solo matches.

However, these moments have been few and far between since his starring role in France’s World Cup triumph back in 2018.

Given Juventus’ fifteen-point deficit in Serie A, La Vieja’s best chance of glory this season is in the Europa League.

A Europa League that could see him paired with United in the last rounds, and with that, a chance for Pogba and the club to meet again.

Both teams will need to fight their way through the round of 16 before it gets any closer, but both will have their eye on the final in Budapest, at the end of the season.

For now, Pogba is just hoping to keep himself available for Max Allegri as Juventus need all hands on deck to salvage their season.
