Football agent Federico Pastorello opens up about the future of his client Arthur Melo, who is spending his season on loan at Fiorentina.
The Juventus-owned player went through several difficult campaigns, but is finally starting to find his place in Florence.
The Brazilian arrived on loan to the Viola with an option to buy at the end of the season for 20 million euros. Currently, the Bianconeri contribute to his salary.
It therefore remains to be seen whether the Tuscans will have the desire and means to make a permanent move at the end of the season.
But Arthur, for his part, enjoys football under the guidance of Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano.
So while his agent admits his future remains a mystery, he insists the 27-year-old is willing to negotiate terms.
“I don’t think there will be an early redemption in January,” Pastorello said via JuventusNews24.
“Fiorentina have the option to buy him at the end of the season, when he may have achieved some important goals.
“Let’s not forget that they are fighting for a place in the Champions League. If they were successful, perhaps the situation could change, because at that time their purchasing power would increase.
“He is very happy at Fiorentina. He has found a suitable environment and a coach that allows him to express his ideas about football.
“He is proving his worth and is happy at Fiorentina. Therefore, we do not rule out anything, even if there is some problem related to the player’s high salary.
“However, the boy will be willing to negotiate at the end of the season.”
Juve FC says
Although he doesn’t say it out loud, Pastorello hints that Arthur might be willing to take a pay cut to remain at Artemio Franchi.
For their part, Juventus would be happy to collect the money and get the salary burden off their books.
