Divock Origi left Liverpool last summer after his contract expired and the club decided not to renew it.
The Belgian made the move to Serie A club AC Milan in an attempt to revitalize her waning career, but the move hasn’t gone as planned so far.
In fact, the 27-year-old has already been dubbed the worst signing of the season for Italian journalist Alvise Cagnazzo (as reported by the Daily Mail).

This will be disappointing news for many Reds fans, as the player has left us with many fond memories over the years, including the phenomenal performance against Barcelona in the Champions League. However, the sad fact is that this is yet another story of a young star who never quite lived up to his potential.
Injuries have prevented Origi from getting going
Origi joined Liverpool from Lille in 2014, but initially returned to the French club on loan. He started playing for the Reds in 2015, when they signed him as a backup to Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool fans will remember Origi’s terrific impact on many cup games over the years, his treble in a 6-1 win over Southampton in the 2015 League Cup quarter-final being particularly memorable.
Unfortunately for Origi, he never quite became a first-team regular under Jurgen Klopp. In fact, he was only used as a late substitute or cup player.
Origi was clearly dissatisfied with this role, which is why he did not seek a contract extension. The move to AC Milan was supposed to give the striker a new lease on life, but it hasn’t turned out that way yet.

Origi has had several injuries that have ruined his start in Italy. Before the World Cup break, the he played 501 minutes of football for the club in all competitions. In that time, he only produced one goal and one assist, leading many to criticize his performances.
Lost his place in the World Cup
Origi was always considered one of Belgium’s hottest young talents in its early days, and has been a regular in the team since his debut in 2014.
This Belgian team has been referred to as a golden generation, thanks to the abundance of star quality in the squad. To be named alongside Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, Origi was expected to go on to bigger and better things.
