Olivier Giroud Set to Extend His AC Milan Contract

Olivier Giroud, striker for the France soccer team, will renew his contract with AC Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Olivier Giroud has been playing for AC Milan since the Italian team signed him on a two-year contract in July 2021. The French international has less than a year left on his current contract with Milan.

Olivier Giroud’s current contract with the Serie A giants expires in 2023. A new contract could extend his stay at the Italian heavyweights beyond the expiration of the current one.

Giroud has been impressive for Milan since signing for them in the summer of 2021.

Fabrizio Romano informs that Giroud is ready to extend his contract with AC Milan. The Italian journalist reports that a new contract proposal will be ready to sign the agreement soon.

He adds that while Giroud remains focused on France’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, he would be more than happy to extend his stay at AC Milan.

“Olivier Giroud is ready to extend his contract with AC Milan after the World Cup. The new agreement proposal will be ready for the documents to be signed as soon as possible,” Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter.

Since signing for AC Milan in 2021, Giroud has made 57 appearances for the Italian team and has scored a respectable 23 goals.

In the 21/22 season, when Milan won the Serie A title, Giroud scored 11 goals for his team in 29 appearances in the Italian top flight.

Olivier Giroud has nine goals in all competitions for AC Milan in the 22/23 season so far, in 19 appearances.

Meanwhile, Giroud will try to help France retain the FIFA World Cup title in Qatar. France is the defending World Cup champion and has already qualified for the quarterfinals.

He has scored three goals so far for France at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The first two of those three goals came in France’s opener at Qatar 2022 when they secured a 4-1 win over Australia. Olivier Giroud also scored for France as they defeated Poland 3-1 in the round of 16.
