Ohara Davies stuns with excuse, calls out stars after first-round KO

Ohara Davies caused a stir this week when the British fighter attempted to accept a devastating first-round knockout in his US debut.

Davies, who has a history of courting controversies, attempted to blame the casino he was staying at for his lack of sleep. “Two Tanks” says too much oxygen was pumped into his hotel, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

He said: “This is not a conspiracy. These are real events,” while many who saw the clip tried to understand what they had witnessed.

The theory gives air to the idea that casinos pump in “extra oxygen” to keep players awake and playing longer. However, this claim has never been confirmed.

Add to that that his conqueror, new WBA interim champion Ismael Barros, had stayed at the same hotel, and Davies does not adhere to the American boxing fraternity.

Undeterred, Davies is already contemplating his next fight and believes he should be rewarded for the knockout rather than punished. The usual route for someone who was ruined in the opening session of an exhibition in the United States would be to return to their homeland and rebuild.

But not Davies. He wants to face a former world champion with more credentials than Barroso.

Ohara Davies wants big names after knockout

“I told Lee[Eaton, promoter] I’m not interested in rebuilding fights. “If I can’t compete with the best, then I’m done,” Davies said.

“I’ll sit and watch [Adam Azim] o Dalton Smith takes the throne – next fight. I want Ramírez, Regis, someone of this level. I am ready at the beginning of May,” he added.

Regarding Barroso sharing the same conditions as Davies, the Londoner responded to Prograis stating precisely that.

“We’re not sure who slept in that hotel,” he told the former WBC champion. “Watch the full video where I explain it.

“It was a good effort a few weeks ago where Devin Haney put bombs in your face for twelve rounds.”

Context

He concluded by asking fans to take the context of what he stated.

“It’s a twenty-minute video on my YouTube. [channel]. Don’t watch a two-minute video and take what I said out of context.”

The hotel claims to the side. It is difficult to distinguish whether the illusion of criticizing Ramírez and Prograis after a first-round KO can be overcome by the excuse.

Davies has always been a confident talker to the point that it has gotten him into trouble in the past. When it came time for him to be humble this time, it seemed like it was once again a bridge too far for Ohara Davies.
