Norman Neely, Malik Nelson, Dwyke Flemmings Jr. Win On ‘ShoBox’ Undercard

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Terrell Jamal Woods was durable, but Norman Neely outboxed him in their six-round heavyweight bout Friday night at Bally’s Event Center.

The 31-year-old Neely (13-0, 8 KOs), of Paterson, New Jersey, won all six rounds on each scorecard to produce a dominant victory on the non-televised portion of the Joseph Adorno-Hugo Alberto Roldan undercard. The official scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 60-54 for Neely, who has gone the distance in three straight fights.

Woods, 33 (28-53-9, 20 KOs), of Forest City, Arkansas, has lost four of his last five bouts.

Neely’s victory came just before Showtime’s three-fight telecast “ShoBox: The New Generation” began.

In the previous fight on Friday night, featherweight prospect Malik Nelson remained undefeated by knocking out Ernest Hall in the third round of a scheduled four-round bout.

Nelson (3-0, 3 KOs), 22, of Avenel, New Jersey, backed Baltimore’s Hall with a left hand for 2 1/2 rounds before his right hook sent Hall to the canvas with little more than a minute on the clock. the third round. Hall (4-2, 1 KO) got to her feet, but referee Mary Glover decided she should not continue and called off the action at 2:07 of the third round.

Earlier on Friday night, Dwyke Flemmings Jr. continued the hot start to his professional career by knocking out Assuan Jones Chatman just 20 seconds into their four-round junior middleweight bout. Flemmings (3-0, 3 KOs), 18, of Paterson, New Jersey, hit Chatman with a right hand that spun Chatman away from Flemmings just 10 seconds into the fight.

Flemmings wisely unloaded a barrage of punches on Chatman, who seemed uninterested in continuing. Understandably, Glover stopped the fight because Chatman turned around and didn’t land a punch on Flemmings.

Chatman (0-3), of Wilson, North Carolina, has lost each of his three professional bouts by knockout or TKO.
