No buy clause included in Ampadu deal

Chelsea Transfer News: Serie A side Spezia signed Wales international Ethan Ampadu on loan from Chelsea earlier in the season. It has finally been revealed that there is no purchase option included in the loan agreement.

A graduate of the Exter City Academy, Ampadu became the youngest player to make his senior debut for the club. Ampadu’s potential then landed him at English Premier League club Chelsea.

The defender then became the first player born in the 2000s to play for Chelsea, but he did not get enough chances to show his potential. Ampadu was then loaned out to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and spent a season in Germany.

Returning to England, Ampadu joined Premier League side Sheffield United on loan and played one season with them. After Sheffield’s relegation, Ampadu joined Italian club Venezia. However, once again his team went down. Meanwhile, Ampadu has established himself as a starter for the Wales team.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Ethan Ampadu’s loan deal with Spezia does not have any €15m purchase option.

However, there is a €1.5m loan fee included in the deal. On top of that, the deal also has some variables that will depend on your playing time.

Ampadu’s loan deal with Spezia is due to end at the end of this season and he will then return to Chelsea.

Since joining Spezia in the final days of the transfer market, the defender has already played 2 games for the Italian club. He made his Spezia debut in a 1-0 loss to Napoli and then played in a 2-1 win over Sampdoria. So far, in both games, he has put in decent performances and seems to have cemented his place in the starting lineup.
