Newcastle forward Isak will be out until the end of the world Cup

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has reportedly been ruled out until the end of the upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The striker injured his thigh during training with his Sweden team in the last FIFA window.

The striker was then expected to make a comeback in last week’s game against Manchester United. Unfortunately for the Swedish striker, however, he sprained his thigh again in training last week.

The injury is quite similar to the one he suffered while playing in Norway. As a result, Isak remained sidelined in Newcastle United’s last outing against the Red Devils.

Newcastle United striker Isak will be out until the end of the World Cup

Isak joined Newcastle United earlier this summer when the Magpies paid a whopping £60m fee to Spanish club Real Sociedad.

He got off to a great start to his career at Newcastle and scored on his debut against Liverpool. but then an injury kept him out for some time. The striker returned to training last week and suffered the same type of injury that will now keep him out for a long time.

According to Sky Sports News, Swedish striker Alexander Isak has been ruled out for at least two months. This means that he will not be able to return until the end of the next World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Sweden surprisingly failed to qualify for the next world cup. So this news is not going to hurt his team much.

But for Newcastle, this is a huge setback. Because the World Cup takes place at an unusual time in November, club football matches are highly congested. Especially in the month of October, the English club matches are getting intense and fast.

So losing one of the best players in their team is obviously not going to help Newcastle at all.

More harrowing for Newcastle fans, Allan Saint-Maximin also suffered a setback on his return with a hamstring injury. Saint-Maximin is now expected to be out for at least a fortnight.

What’s next for Newcastle United?

Newcastle United are off to a decent start to their English Premier League season. They have won three of their first ten games and have collected fifteen points. The Magpies are currently in sixth position and look like one of the toughest teams to beat. Eddie Howe’s team will now face Everton in their next game.
