Neville tips Liverpool star to become best ‘the world has ever produced’ in his position

It’s fair to say that Trent Alexander-Arnold has been at the bottom of some unrelenting criticism during the 2022/23 campaign as his defense has come under the microscope.

Despite that, Gary Neville remains utterly convinced of Scouser’s ability and his potential to be the best right-back in the world.

“I have to say I think these are really basic things for him,” the former England international spoke on Monday Night Football.

“The hard part of the game is doing it. No fullback I’ve ever seen in this country can do what he can do.

“So if he can work on those four basic things and get those elements of consistency with those things, not only will we have one of the best offensive right backs this country has ever produced, we’ll probably have the best right back. the world has never produced!”

It’s high praise from the former Red Devil and one fans are hoping the No.66 will take on board to turn his season around and get commentators back in agreement.

There’s no need to convince Liverpool fans how good our right-back is; we know that, in his day, Alexander-Arnold is undoubtedly the top talent at his position.

Whether he’ll break through the stratosphere of legendary fullbacks and occupy a space entirely his own will depend in part on whether he can address concerns about, say, the inability to track running backs on occasion.

A big reason behind some of the accusations that have been leveled against him is of course due to the coach’s instructions, with Jurgen Klopp previously admitting he was responsible for pushing the 23-year-old up the pitch as part of our high level. Football hazard mark.

However, as long as we’re out of possession and fending off attacks in our final third, we simply can’t afford Trent to neglect his defensive duties.
