NBA Hands Out 11 Suspensions Following Pistons-Magic Brawl

The NBA today handed out 11 player suspensions in connection with a fight during the Pistons-Magic game on Wednesday night, with Moe Wagner and Killian Hayes at the center of the drama.

When Wagner and Hayes chased a fumble off the court, no one expected the drama to follow, as Wagner pushed his opponent onto the Detroit bench with a fight that began after the Magic star’s actions.

Hayes punched Wagner and connected with the back of the players’ heads, briefly knocking out the 25-year-old and sending players and staff on both sides into a heated brawl.

The NBA handed out suspensions today to not only Wagner and Hayes, but also 9 others who were involved in the incident, including players from both sides.

Surprisingly, the Pistons’ rookie guard only received a three-game suspension for punching Wagner, while the player who caused the incident in the first place will serve a two-game suspension on the bench for his reckless actions.

Detroit guard Hamidou Diallo will also face timeout for coming to the defense of his teammates, as he shoved Wagner back onto the Pistons’ bench during the ensuing drama.

Orlando was hit much harder by the postgame bans and will have to do a big shakeup before their next game against the Wizards on Friday night, with eight players receiving one-game bans.

The eight players who received a one-game suspension for Orlando are: Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., RJ Hampton, Gary Harris, Kevon Harris, Franz Wagner and Admiral Schofield.
