Napoli have ruled out a move for Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming January transfer window amid rumors the Portuguese could leave Manchester United. Ronaldo has been linked with a departure from Manchester United in the summer, just one season after he sealed a sensational return to the Premier League side.

Reports said that Ronaldo had asked Man Utd to allow him to leave if they receive a suitable offer. However, interest in the 37-year-old was few and far between, while Man Utd insisted he was not for sale.

Cristiano Ronaldo was linked with several clubs, including Napoli, but it never materialized. He ended up staying with the Old Trafford team, failing to secure a move away from the club.

Rumors abound that Ronaldo could leave Manchester United in the January transfer window. Ronaldo has had a difficult start to the 22/23 season and has found himself on the bench more often than he would have anticipated.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also punished after he refused to come off the bench as a late substitute in Man Utd’s win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Portuguese also made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he went down the tunnel and left Old Trafford before the game against Spurs was over.

Ten Hag dropped Ronaldo from the Man Utd squad for the match against Chelsea. He has since rejoined the team, scoring for the Red Devils as they secured a 3-0 win over FC Sheriff in their last game.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored Man Utd’s third goal of the match, finishing off a rebound after forcing a save from the FC Sheriff goalkeeper.

Despite Ronaldo’s return to the squad, there are still suggestions that the Portuguese superstar could leave the club in January. One club linked with Ronaldo’s signing is Napoli, but they have ruled out a deal to sign the Portuguese in January.

“Ronaldo in January? We will not sign any players in January. We don’t need to change anything in this team. We are doing very well and we are not planning any transfers, as of today,” Napoli manager Cristiano Giuntoli told DAZN. [via Sports Mole].

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has so far appeared in 13 games for the Red Devils this season. He has scored three goals for Erik ten Hag’s men so far in the 22/23 campaign, two of them in the Europa League and one in the Premier League.
