Mykhaylo Mudryk set to cost in excess of €100m

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

According to a report from MirrorManchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have all been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old and have now been told they will have to pay a premium to secure his services.

According to the sporting director of the Ukrainian club, Carlo Nicolini, the player will cost more than what Manchester United paid for the Brazilian winger Antony during the summer transfer market.

The Red Devils reported that they paid a sum of around 100 million euros for the former Ajax player.

He said Calciomercato.it program, TV Play: “Is 40 million euros enough to buy it? We do not speak with these figures. Neither for 50 million euros, nor did we call the president to inform him of the offer. We value Mudryk more than Antonio de manchester unitedwhich cost 100 million euros.

“We are not obliged to sell, we do not want to make phenomena. We don’t want to shoot figures that are not realistic. But in this team, he is the most decisive. If you want to sign certain players who make a difference at top clubs, you also need the right money.”

Mudryk has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents in recent months and has been a key player for Shakhtar Donetsk.

As well as his impressive performances in the Ukrainian league, he has also managed to show his quality in the UEFA Champions League this season.

The 21-year-old has six goals and seven assists in all competitions so far this season and could be a quality acquisition for the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United.

All three clubs could use some more depth in the attacking department, and it remains to be seen if they are prepared to pay the premium for his signing.

There is no doubt that the young winger has prodigious talent, but he has yet to prove himself at the highest level. The reported asking price is likely to ward off suitors and it remains to be seen whether Shakhtar Donetsk are willing to negotiate a more reasonable transfer fee.

It’s fair to assume that the player is unlikely to leave mid-season and therefore any moves would have to wait until the summer.
