MLS clubs eyeing transfer of big-named Chelsea star

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s time at Chelsea will surely come to an end once the season concludes, but it is unclear where the 33-year-old will end up at this point as interest from MLS clubs grows.

The former Arsenal star joined Chelsea at the start of the season looking to be their number one striker for the campaign under previous manager Thomas Tuchel, but the arrival of Graham Potter has reduced Aubameyang’s playing time significantly.

The new arrivals meant the 33-year-old was left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad for the round of 16 and that meant the striker’s time at Stamford Bridge is drawing to a close.

Writing in his exclusive Daily Briefing column CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano says there is interest from MLS clubs in Aubameyang, but the player would prefer to stay in Europe for now.

The transfer journalist says: “MLS clubs are interested in Aubameyang, but I was told from the player’s side that there is no green light for this kind of solution yet, he prefers to continue in Europe from now on, so nothing progressed at this stage.”

According to GOAL, Los Angeles FC is one of the teams interested in signing Aubameyang from Chelsea.
