Milik explains why he feels more comfortable playing at Juventus -Juvefc.com

While most of the club’s summer signings are still struggling to adjust, Arkadiusz Milik has so far proven to be one of the Old Lady’s shrewdest deals.

The Pole made a late-summer move from Olympique Marseille to Juventus in an initial loan deal with an option to buy, with the whole deal only costing the Italians around €10m.

This figure is arguably a bargain considering the player’s capabilities, especially when compared to the sums splashed out elsewhere.

For his part, the 28-year-old explains that the Bianconeri have been on his heels since his days at Napoli. However, a deal was unlikely to materialize at the time.

“Contacts for my transfer started before the game against Nantes, when I was on the bench,” Milik said in an interview with L’Equipe via Corriere dello Sport.

“But Juventus had actually been following me since I was at Napoli. But then it was not possible to reach an agreement. So now we’re happy to find the deal done after all.”

The striker’s relationship with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had deteriorated at the end of his spell in southern Italy, and the boss had no intention of selling him to Juventus.

Milik also reveals that he feels better in Turin, as he enjoys playing with another striker by his side.

“I was happy in Marseille, but with Sampaoli many times I was alone in the box. On the contrary, in almost every game I played in Turin I had another striker by my side.

“This is easier for me, because I have more solutions. However, I can say with confidence that Marseille will always remain in my heart.”
